Soakwell

A wellness product company rooted in balneotherapy, the brand aims to create a simple, ritualistic system for those in need of self-restoration.

As the lead designer on this project, I worked closely with Antidote’s AD to conceptualize and execute the entire project. I even stepped in as the photographer!

Creative Direction

The visual language symbols are derived from traditional Thai language symbols, the heritage of the brand’s founder. We developed a design system using icons inspired by Thai letters and Reiki symbols that evoked the movement of water. Each “Soak Set” was given an icon to highlight the healing properties of the products.


The symbol used for the sub logo is an interpretation of the Reiki symbol for Cho Ku Rei. The Cho Ku Rei symbol is used in Reiki as the "light switch" for turning on the power of the universe within. In a similar way, Soakwell is the catalyst for turning into our inner peace. The symbol is also evoking the shape of a shell, with emphasis on the center of the shell to represent Oneness.

Brand Identity

Soakwell’s founder Christy LoPresto created the company after suffering from emotional and hormonal stress. Feeling a personal need for self-restoration, she developed a method of rituals and products that would directly restore her peace, balance and love.


The intention behind our brand strategy was to represent Christy’s journey to restorative self-healing and ensure the identity felt accessible, calming and holistic, while focusing on Soakwell’s unique selling points -- like the fact the products are organic and made in small batches.


The product is aimed at adults experiencing stress and imbalance in their everyday lives. Soakwell is popular amongst yogis, spiritual beings and those interested in alternative medicine; as well as those generally seeking homeostasis.

Website

For the Soakwell website, we focused on clean aesthetics that would balance the eclectic feel of the products. The website was built on Squarespace so the client could easily manage their shop after we had built the foundations.
